It seemed like just a moment

That I felt your silent voice,

I have fallen to my knees

And my heart is here by choice.

I wouldn’t trade one moment,

Of my being here with you.

The quiet all around me

Like the feel of morning dew.

Lighted candles on your altar

Seem to dance like angel’s wings,

To the prayers of those who love you

  Amidst their daily things.

And Father, if the others

Who are busy day by day,

Would come and kneel before you,

Their hearts would surely pray. . .

For peace, and love, and goodness,

Yet they simply do not know. . .

One precious way to love you,

  Through “Adoration” they would grow.

Their burdens would be lifted

And their hearts would light with fire.

They could go about their busy day

  And never seem to tire.

For “Adoration” lifts the soul

  Because your majesty

Fills it up and makes it shine

For all the rest to see.

So Father, what I’m asking

In my prayers to you today,

Is that others will experience

Your closeness in this way –

And learn to just adore you

  In this quiet time alone,

And thank you for this holy gift,

  Through “Adoration," you have shone.
