MEET PRISCILLA ROSE WYATT

The Rose Palette Studio

As the studio name implies, The Rose Palette is just that, a palette full of colorful roses.  Painting them can be delicate or bold and colorful, and the fragrance of success is written all over your very own masterpiece.  What a wonderful gift of yourself to your family, friends, and yes, even to the world. “ I love to paint,” says Priscilla,  “and painting with words as in poetry or short stories for children is another avenue of my artistry.  You just never know where your art will take you until you try!”

“I have enjoyed the thrill of art to the fullest with oil paints but have also played in watercolors and pastels, bringing myself to an understanding of some of the various mediums and techniques.  If it is different, I insist on trying it!  I have dabbled with clay a bit, and love to dye and spin fibers to knit with, embellish an oil painting with or to use in my line of watercolor note cards.

I really love to teach.  I have taught art, kindergarten through 6th grade for 9 years in the Washington State school system, and also taught youngsters and adults to paint with oils for 15 years from my home.  My students and I took many awards at the Spokane Interstate Fair.  I always included my students in events whether it was “art in the park” or opportunities to “hang” in local businesses or galleries.  When I arrived in Oregon, I gave classes at my home in Lakeside, which was a great way for me to meet folks.  I have consistently held classes at The Rose Palette in The Village, for about 15 years.

Painting is a wonderful thing to do; it not only makes the hours fly by but also becomes a fanciful vent for emotions to release themselves.  I wish to encourage folks to stop by and peek into The Rose Palette Studio located at the West Wing Corridor, to see just what we are working on.  Please take my business card and let me know if you would like to join in.  Or, pop in to the studio for a visit.  We paint the first three weeks of each month. Classes are in session Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesdays,  and Thursdays from 12:00 to 3:00.  (Other classes available as requested)

As my years have progressed, I am even more convinced that constant learning never grows old, especially since I feel so very young at heart.  It will be a joy to meet you, and I look forward to it.”
